Assistant memory stores facts so the assistant can answer you better. Loopn’s memory stores people and feelings arranged in time. That difference is what lets Loopn show you that a sentence you wrote in March stopped appearing after May. Assistant memory is notes. Loopn is a record.

Is Loopn an AI companion?
No. Loopn is not an AI companion. Loopn has no character to bond with, sends no check-in messages, and is not designed to be a relationship. Companion apps are built to be someone in your life. Loopn is a record of the people already in it.
Is Loopn therapy, or a replacement for a therapist?
No. Loopn is not therapy and is not a substitute for professional care. No clinician is involved. Loopn does not diagnose, treat, or manage a crisis. If you are struggling, speak to a doctor or a qualified mental health professional.
Is Loopn a journaling app?
No. Loopn is a memory, not a journal. A journal stores entries. Loopn stores the people and feelings inside those entries and compares them across months. You can write long entries in Loopn, but the entries themselves are not the point.
What is the Sunday Loop?
The Sunday Loop is a short letter Loopn sends you once a week. It states what repeated in your week, what shifted, and what you stopped mentioning. It takes about two minutes to read. There is nothing you have to do with it.
Does Loopn give advice?
No. Loopn does not give advice, set goals, or score your week. Loopn states what it noticed and stops. Deciding what any of it means is yours.
Do I have to write every day?
No. Loopn has no streaks, no daily targets, and no penalty for missing time. Write when you have something to say. Loopn keeps whatever you give it.
Can I speak to Loopn instead of typing?
Yes. You can speak an entry instead of typing it. Spoken entries go into the same memory as written ones.
What is the difference between chat and the journal in Loopn?
Chat is for short back-and-forth, the way you would text someone. The journal is a long uninterrupted page with no prompts and no timer. Both go into the same memory, so it does not matter which one you use.
